(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.)  Big Brothers Big Sisters in St. Joseph held their annual Ride For Kids Sake event on Saturday.  The ride began at St. Joe Harley Davidson and ended at The First Ward House with an after party.  Motorcycle riders rode around town for a couple of hours while all proceeds went to Big Brothers Big Sisters.

"Fund raising events are what our organization relies on for funding.  To keep our program here in St. Joe, to keep us matching kids with mentors.  And even if we don't have a great turnout it still creates awareness," said BBBS Events Coordinator Melissa Honeycutt.

Big Brothers Big Sisters hopes to spark an interest within the community and recruit some volunteers with the fundraising event.  They serve over 100 kids each year and currently have a waiting list of over 40 kids.  Funds will help take the kids on the waiting list and match them with a big brother, big sister, or big couple.
