(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Workers at St. Joseph's Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory have been busy preparing a sweet snack for soldiers overseas.
This week, the store has been making fudge for its fudge for troops program.
Every week this year, the shop has sent candy to the troops, but with the holidays approaching, they're making the biggest shipment yet.
About 50 pounds will be sent this week. They've sent around 150 pounds so far this year and aren't done yet.
For the workers, it's a way of saying thanks.

"We're saying 'thank you,' and I don't expect a thank you back for a thank you. But it is always nice when we get a phone call from one of the soldiers that's overseas," owner Leslie Oberg said.

For every pound of fudge sold, the store sends a pound to the troops.
Over the last two years, Oberg says, the St. Joseph location alone has sent over 300 pounds of fudge to those serving abroad.
