City Plans Waste Disposal, Collection Dates

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Upcoming events sponsored by the City of St. Joseph aim to help residents clean up and maintain their property.

The clean sweep program will begin Oct. 1. St. Joseph residents can take yard waste, trash appliances and tires, off the rims, to the city landfill free of charge.

The Clean Sweep program ends Oct. 7.

On Oct. 12, residents can take household hazardous waste and electronics to the Remington Nature Center parking lot for disposal.

Accepted materials include: oil, antifreeze, fuels, cleaners, batteries, lawn & garden products, pesticides, paint and other household materials.

The collection will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m.

Residents must present ID and proof of residency for both events.
