(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Johnson Controls has announced it will lay off 29 workers from one of its two St. Joseph locations.

The layoffs will come at the Pear Street location that focuses on automotive battery assembly.

The Milwaukee based company says technology advances have changed staffing needs.

Johnson Controls also has a location on SW Lower Lake Rd. in St. Joseph. No employees will be laid off at that plant.

More than 600 workers in St. Joseph are employed by Johnson Controls.
