The annual day camp is underway with the theme of "Go West Again."
More than 50 kids are learning about the 1800s - everything from what it was like to attend class in a one-room school house to the clothing worn during that time.
The museum offers this hands-on lesson as a way to bring the stories from the pages of a history book to life.
"History is recorded in books, but for children it's a lot easier if they see history come alive. So, they get to actually see a little bit of what history looked like rather than just reading about it in a book," said volunteer Stan Rippey.
The four-day camp wraps up on Thursday.
