(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Lydia Zuidema will retire at the end of the school year from St. Joseph Christian School.

Zuidema has worked in the school system for 35 years.

She says her greatest passion is educating students while also teaching them about faith.

"It has just been an honor and a blessing to work with board members, area ministers, faculty, staff, parents and students as we have come together to be apart of something that God wanted to do," Zuidema said.

Zuidema will head to Memphis, Tenn., this summer to take on a new leadership position with an international organization of Christian schools.
