(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A St. Joseph business is being rewarded for its committment to hire veterans.  Lowe's was presented the Show Me Heroes Flag of Freedom award Tuesday.  By taking a pledge, Lowe's has hired 20 veterans in the past 18 years.  They were recognized not only for hiring veterans but for recognizing veterans for their valuable training and education.

"We've always looked for the best opportunity and this is just great to be able to honor good associates that have a great work ethic along with being a veteran of the war as well.  A veteran of the service," said Lowe's Store Manager Neal Northway.

Lowe's is one of 4,000 companies that have taken the pledge where over 7,000 veterans have been hired in the state of Missouri.
