More Than 200 Area Families Await Adoption

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) More than 200 area families are waiting to be adopted this holiday season.

Close to 3,000 individuals from over 800 families applied to be adopted through the AFL-CIO Community Services in St. Joseph. As of Wednesday morning, more than 600 families had been adopted.

Penny Adams, executive director with the AFL-CIO, says donations are still being accepted. Families wanting to help have several options for adoption.
