(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) M'Shoogy's animal rescue center came out to play Saturday afternoon.

The M'Shoogy animal shelter held it's first fundraiser earlier Saturday afternoon at the American Legion on Frederick.

Thirteen vendors participated in a raffle drawing to raise money for the animal shelter.

The vendors ranged from scarfs, to jewelry, to candles and scents.

All the money raised will go toward the non-profit organization to help rescue more animals.

"They're a no-kill shelter, and there's not many shelters left that are no kill shelters. So I think they're a really important organization to support," said fundraiser supporter Darcey Van Dorn.

M'Shoogy's shelter is planning on having another fundraiser this coming spring.
