Adelbert "Del" Lee Wilson 90, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at his home.
He was born August 13, 1923 in Billings, MT, son of Alys (Scofield) and Charley Wilson.
He graduated from Manhattan, KS high school. After graduation he served in the Navy and is a veteran of the World War II.
He married Marjorie Rezac on February 19, 1954 in Onaga, KS.
He worked at St. Joseph Stockyards as a Commission Man retiring after 50 years of service. Del was a Rodeo man, his 1st trophy Saddle Team Roping at the age of 70, he enjoyed serving on the Board of Directors of the Missouri High School Rodeo Assn., and he was a Congregationalist.
Del was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Malcolm Wilson, and Dale Wilson.
Survivors include, wife, Marjorie Gail Wilson of the home, two daughters, Margo (Jess) McPhee of Stewartsville, MO, Gayle (David) Delaney of Gower, and three sons, Wade (Phyllis) Wilson of Kincaid, KS, Dane (Pam) Wilson of Columbia, MO, and Rhys Wilson of Savannah, MO, 12, grandchildren, 6, great grandchildren, two brothers, Joe (Arlene) Wilson of St. George, KS, and Clark (Joan) Wilson of Fort Morgan, CO, three sisters, Edith Blodget of Topeka, KS, Betty Bottom of Arvada, CO, and Marjorie A. Wilson of Topeka, KS.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Friday, March 28, 2014 at Culbertson Chapel United Methodist Church, Stewartsville, MO. with Pastor Kevin Mabury officiating, The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Old Presbyterian Cemetery, Stewartsville, MO.
Memorials are requested to the National Military Museum of St. Joseph, and the VFW Post #5531 of Wathena, KS.
