Audry "Lorene" Hickman 89, of DeKalb, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in a St. Joseph Health Care Center.

She was born November 29, 1924 in Platte County, Weston, MO, daughter of Mildred Lucille (Richardson) and William Franklin Linville Jr.

She attended all her school years in Platte County and graduated from Weston high school in 1942. She attended the Salem Christian Church, north of Weston, being baptized at the age of 13. She transferred her membership to the DeKalb Christian Church in 1956.

Lorene married Harry Melvin Hickman on Christmas Eve in 1943 in St. Joseph, by Rev. Floyd B. Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Hickman, her parents, and a great-granddaughter, Paylynn Brooke Spencer. Survivors include, daughter, Lu Ann Sailor and husband Butch, son, Doug Hickman and wife Vickie all of De Kalb, MO, six grandchildren Chuck Sailor IV, Matt Sailor, Ashley Spencer, Lyndsay Colburn, Whitney Hickman, and Cole Hickman, and 7 great grandchildren, Mack Spencer, Chase Sailor V, Camden Colburn, Miles Spencer, Bennett Sailor, Carter Colburn, and Ainsleigh Sailor, and her sister Patty Harpst of Weston, MO.

Lorene loved the mountains, and gospel and quartet music, and was a very very proud mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at DeKalb Christian Church, with Rev. Pat Sampson officiating, The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Westlawn Cemetery .

Memorials are requested to the DeKalb Christian Church Ladies Club.
