She was born August 31, 1919 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of Caroline and Andrew Cebula.
She graduated from Benton high school class of 1936, she worked as a manager at the Chase Candy Company in Oakland CA, she also worked at Helen Wrinkle pharmacy, and retired from Big Smith. She was a member of the former Entre Nous Club and the St. James Catholic Church. She enjoyed baking and cooking and was an awesome grandma.
Berniece was preceded in death by husband, Charles Novak, her parents, a son, Tim Novak, and a brother, Benny Cebula. Survivors include two sons, David Novak and Ronald Novak of St. Joseph, MO, five grandchildren, Sean, Latham, Clay, Andy, and Krista.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at 11:00 am at the St. James Catholic Church, Father Evan Harkins Celebrant. The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm, Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home where the family will receive friends until 8:00 PM. The Interment will be at the Mount Olivet Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Berniece Novak Memorial fund in care of the Rupp Funeral Home.
