Betty Beatrice (Williams) Merritt 77, Savannah, MO. Passed from this life on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Excelsior Springs Nursing and Rehab, Excelsior Springs, MO. She was born in Maryville, MO on October 18, 1936 to Floyd and Beatrice (Gilbert) Williams.

Betty loved her family dearly and enjoyed sewing, needlework, blues and country music. She lived most of her life in Savannah and was a Christian. Betty worked several years as a seamstress at Townsend and Wall and Einbenders.

Survivors include, her mother, Beatrice; four sons, David (Judy) Kempf, Conroe, TX, Jack (Kim) Kempf, St. Joseph, MO, Curt (Paula) Kempf, Kansas City, KS, and Rob (Stephanie) Merritt, Country Club, MO; daughter, Lou Ann (Kirby) Wilson, Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Delpha Cooper, St. Joseph, Mo and Flo (Chad) Riddle, Savannah, MO; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah, Missouri. Family receiving hours will be 1 to 2 PM Thursday, March 27 at the Funeral Home.
