Emmett “JR” F. Hawkins, Jr., 83, Wathena, Kansas died Thursday, March 27, 2014 at a local healthcare facility.
He was born November 16, 1930 to Emmett F. and Martha E. (McDowell) Hawkins, Sr. in New Market, Missouri.
Emmett married Marlous Haedt on August 29, 1986. She survives of the home.
Mr. Hawkins served in the Air National Guard and worked as an auto salesman. He was also a member of the Brotherhood Lodge No.269, A.F.& A.M., Thirty-second Degree Scottish Rite Mason and Moila Shrine.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: wife; daughters, Janice Grable (Norman), Warsaw, Missouri and Kim Hawkins, St. Joseph, Missouri; step-son, Tim Haedt (Khris), Wathena, Kansas; step-daughters, Jody Paden (Bryan), Wathena, Kansas and Diane Fuller, Kansas City, Missouri; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. For those wishing to make a contribution, the family requests they be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
