Florence Jeanne (Nelson) Gerber, 92, Savannah, MO passed from this life in her home on Thursday, April 17, 2014. She was born August 1,1921 in Bethany, MO to Charles and Blanche (Mathis) Nelson.

Florence married Frederick Gerber on July 16, 1946 in Maryville, MO and he preceded her in death on August 31, 1986. In addition to running the family farm with her husband and sons, Florence taught school in Rosendale, Helena, and Savannah and was a librarian for the Rolling Hills Library Bookmobile. Florence loved her family, was a good teacher, and a great Librarian.

Survivors; sons, Charles (Kathie) Gerber, Atlanta, GA, Brad Gerber and friend Mary LeMieux, Scott (Tammie) Gerber, all of Savannah, MO; brothers, Jim (Jean) Nelson, Knoxville, TN, John Nelson, Covina, CA; five grandchildren, Chad, Amanda, Erin, Nick, and Jordan Gerber; three great grandchildren, Katelinn, Michael, and Karlee Gerber.

Florence was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother Halden "Toby" Nelson.

Memorial Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Helena Methodist Church, Helena, MO. Visitation and family receiving hours will be 6 – 8 PM Tuesday April 22, 2014 at Breit – Hawkins Funeral Home.
