Frances Margaret (Hoffman) Schoenfelder, 92 of Wathena, KS., born January 1, 1922, passed away February 1, 2014.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Walter C. and Margaret Hoffman (of Blair, KS.), her brother Walter C. Hoffman, Jr. and his wife, Dorothy (of St. Joseph, MO.) and infant sisters, Marcella Hoffman and Cecellia Hoffman.

Frances attended Blair, KS. grade school and was in the graduating class of 1940 of Wathena High School. She retired from J.C. Penney in 1984 after 23 years of service.

She was also preceded in death by husband, Robert (Jack) Deeken, husband, Gordon Schuler and husband, Eugene Schoenfelder.

Frances was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church since 1941, the American Legion Auxiliary since 1940 and the St. Ann’s Altar Society (Ladies church society). She was also a member of Wathena Keenage Center and the Larkettes.

She is survived by nieces, Regina and husband, Dale Vernon, Renee and husband, Rick Anderson and nephew, Craig and wife Lynne Hoffman. She also is survived by numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wathena Keenage Center or the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral Mass: 10:30 A.M. Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wathena, KS.

Visitation: 1 hour prior to service at the church, friends may call after 9 A.M. Friday, at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home in Wathena, KS. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery in Wathena.
