Geneva “Jimmie” Nelsen-Phillips, 91, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the Gower Convalescent Center, Gower, MO.

Jimmie was born December 22, 1922 in Omaha, NE to Myrle Clifford and Annie Annice (Slater) Smith.

She was raised in the Omaha area, and was a lifelong member of the Church of God Abrahamic Faith in Omaha; a church founded by Jimmie’s in- laws. Jimmie married William Meredith Nelsen on November 9, 1939 in Pappillion, NE. She worked as a Municipal Court Clerk for the city of Riverside, MO for 18 years, and was a commissioned police officer, retiring in 1987 to care for her husband and mother. She lived in the Platte City area in later years. Jimmie enjoyed laughter, and lived life to its fullest.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bud, and her sister Loris Witherby.

Jimmie is survived by: her daughters Connie (Dale) Moran of Savannah, MO, and Kathy (Rod) Brubeck of Platte City; 8 grandchildren Bill Moran, Jim Moran, Errol Utterback, Ann Privette, Tad Utterback, Vernon Robinette, Bob Brubeck, and Randy Brubeck; 15 great grandchildren; and 18 great, great grandchildren.

Following cremation, private family memorial services will be held at a later date, with inurnment in the Savannah Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be given to the Gower Convalescent Center Activity Department-- Arrangements By: Rollins Funeral Home—Platte City, MO—Ph. 816-858-2129.
