George David DuCoing, 89, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

George was born on January 4, 1925 in St. Joseph to George D. and Rosa DuCoing. He graduated from Central High School and then joined the United States Army.

George became a member of the Operating Engineer Local 101. George was also a member of the Moila Shrine Temple, the Legion of Honor, Brotherhood 269 AM and FM, 32nd Degreee Mason of the Scottish Rite, Wyatt Park Christian Church, American Legion # 359, Eagles and a former member of the Heart of America Model A. Club. George also loved to collect old and vintage cars.

George was preceded in death by his parents.

George married Alyce Arn on May 1, St. Joseph. She survives of the home.

Additional surviving family includes son, Jeff (Tiffany) DuCoing, Kansas City, Missouri.

Services 10:00 AM Tuesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will begin after 12:00 Noon Monday at our chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday evening.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Shriner’s Hospital in care of the Moila Shrine Temple in St. Joseph.
