Glenda “Sue” Caton, 77, of St. Joseph, passed away Monday, April 1, 2014 at a local health care facility.
Sue was born July 25, 1936 to Glenn and Sara (Hoskins) Fisher in St. Joseph. She was a 1954 graduate of Benton High School. Sue worked as Assistant Vice President at Farmer’s State Bank in St. Joseph, and later as a Clerk at Buchanan County Courthouse from which she retired. She later worked part time as a receptionist for Dr. Remis and Dr. Moeller and as an election poll worker for Buchanan County.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where she was also a member of United Methodist Women.
Sue loved shopping and spending time with her grandchildren. She took pride in her church family and enjoyed giving to others.
Preceding her in death are her parents and her husband Robert.
Survivors include, daughters Kim Bowen and Tammie Dame and her fiancé’ Craig Burnes; sister, Pam DeRoin Campbell; three grandchildren, Jordan Dame, Cody and Kyle (Amber) Swartz; two great-grandchildren Caton and Mackenzie Swartz, all of St. Joseph and numerous nieces and nephews and several cousins.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Jim Barnett officiating. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Thursday at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home, where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimers Association or the American Diabetes Association.
