Irvin Joseph Farnan, 89, Savannah, MO passed from this life on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Missouri Veterans Home, Cameron, MO.

He was born June 15, 1925 in Clyde, MO to Joseph and Gertrude (Sullivan) Farnan.

He was a lifelong resident of Northwest Missouri. Irvin worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter Carrier for 37 years and was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. He was also member of St. Rose of Lima Church, American Legion Post #464 – Tri-C Memorial, Conception Junction, MO, and served in the US Navy aboard the USS Ingraham DD694 during WWII. Irvin was also a devout St Louis Cardinal fan.

Irvin married Edna (Long) Shafer on January 14, 1961 and she preceded him in death on January 2, 2000.

He is also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wilfred Farnan, Maurice Farnan, and Robert Farnan; and sister, Mary Ann Reeves.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin Farnan, Cripple Creek, CO, Terry Farnan, St. Joseph, MO; one brother, John Farnan Cameron, MO; one sister, Alice Barmann, Maryville, MO.

Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 28, 2014 at St. Rose Of Lima Catholic Church, Savannah, MO. Memorial visitation will be held Friday 5-6:30pm with Rosary beginning at 6:30, June 27, 2014 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO.
