James Milton Jones, 74, St. Joseph, Missouri died Thursday, February 6, 2014 at a local healthcare facility.
He was born April 2, 1939 to William and Helen (Groom) Jones in St. Joseph, Missouri.
He married Marilyn Ann Wilson on January 20, 1968. She survives of the home.
James graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Sedalia, Missouri and attended St. Joseph Junior College. He was a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones and proudly served in the United States Air Force.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus #5067 and he volunteered at Cathedral Food Pantry.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant daughter, Janeen.
Additional Survivors: daughters, Brenna Snow (Jay), Chester, Virginia, Lisa Patterson (Scott), Arnold, Missouri, Julie Goforth (Damon), St. Joseph, Missouri and Carolyn Bangerter (Mike), St. Joseph, Missouri; son, James W. “J.W.” Jones (Cathy), St. Joseph, Missouri; brothers, Mark Jones (Martha) and Chris Jones (Colleen); eleven grandchildren, Berk and Hayley Snow, Caitlin Kinman, Tyler, T.J. and Lauren Patterson, Rebekah and Hannah Goforth, Genevieve Jones, and Lewis and Charlie Bangerter; and seven nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery. Parish Rosary 6:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 4:00 P.M. Monday. Flowers are appreciated and for those wishing to make a contribution, the family requests they be made to the St. Joseph Cathedral School or Cathedral Food Pantry.
