Jim D. Brand, 64, St. Joseph, Missouri died peacefully Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in St. Joseph, Missouri at his home surrounded by family.
He was born January 30, 1950 to Bonnie (Goodwin) Brand in St. Joseph, Missouri.
He was a graduate of Central High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Marketing from Missouri Western State University. He enjoyed a long career in the wood floor care industry.
Jim was a good ol’ boy who was never judgmental, loved his dogs and was often heard saying “What will be will be.” Jim looked forward to hunting season every year with his son and friends and was a lifelong member of Ducks Unlimited. He was a fisherman, enjoyed all kinds of sports and was a devoted Broncos Fan.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Ruby Brand and Cecil and Martha Goodwin; and aunt and uncle Mable and Harold Kirk.
Survivors: mother, Bonnie (Goodwin) Brand, St. Joseph, Missouri; children, Beth Brand, Kansas City, Missouri, Ryan Brand, Byers, Colorado, and Ashley Brand, St. Joseph, Missouri; sister, Carla Johnson (Doug), Faucett, Missouri; six grandchildren; four nephews; and beloved dogs, Parker and Pepper.
Services: 10:00 A.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Joseph, Missouri. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, Missouri. The family will receive friends 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
