John H. McCleave, 76, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Abbey Woods Living and Rehab Center, where loving care was given for three years.
He was born on January 25, 1938 to Hewett and Anna (Sommer) McCleave. He married Barbara Wilson on January 31, 1959.
John worked for Safeway Stores ten years and retired from Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company after 35 years. He held his Missouri Real Estate license for 40 years.
John was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Joseph, James and George, and sisters, Frances Evelyn and Joanne, and daughters, Mary Lou and Kelly Marie.
Survivors: his wife, Barbara; daughters, Tammy (Randy) Milbourn, Kathleen (Don) Lee and Michele (Mike) Thomas; grandchildren, Ben Milbourn, Tim (Brandi) Milbourn, Taylor Lee and Donnie Lee, Makena, Lauren and Henry Thomas; great-grandson, Joshua Blake Milbourn and step-great-grandchildren, Sydney Eddins and Ty Becker; brother, Earl (Ethlyn) McCleave, sister, Virginia Woehr, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He loved his family and will be greatly missed.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 5:00 PM Friday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, where a Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM Friday at our chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Friday evening.
The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Camp Quality.
