Joseph L. Bliley, 67, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014, at a Kansas City, MO hospital.

Joseph was born on January 29, 1947, in St. Joseph, MO to Edmund J. and Doris J (Wisniewski) Bliley. He was a graduate of Christian Brothers High School, class of 65 and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a Theatre minor at Missouri Western State University. He served as a decorated Sgt. in the Marines during the Vietnam War.

Joseph moved to California for twenty years. Joe worked many years in the entertainment industry where he was known as “Disco Joe” and later for the U.S. Postal Service. He then relocated to Kansas City, MO seven years ago. He was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fine arts and lectures. He also loved all kinds of music.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Patricia Bliley and one brother, Frederick Michael Bliley.

Survivors include his three brothers, Raymond Bliley, St. Joseph, MO, Jim (Wilhelmine) Bliley, Cedar Rapids, IA and Larry (Valerie) Bliley, St. Joseph, MO; one sister, Jeana (Bob) Amos, Gladstone, MO; nine nieces and nephews; ten great-nieces and great-nephews; numerous cousins and friends.

Joseph has been cremated . The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2014 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph, MO.
