Larry Dean Davis, 65, of Savannah, MO, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Heartland/Mosaic Hospital in Saint Joseph, MO.

Larry was born on July 7, 1948 in Maryville, MO to Harold and Ilene Davis. He graduated from South Nodaway High School in 1967 and then moved to Savannah. Larry married Dianne Barge on June 3, 1972 in Gering, Nebraska. He was a Barber in Savannah for 40 years and was an active member of Christ’s Church south of Savannah. Larry was noted for his friendliness and giving of himself to others. No one was a stranger to him. He loved cars, boats and tractors and eventually sold these at his place of business in Savannah. His life was characterized by hard work, love of God and Church, and going to his son and grandsons ball games. A family member said “He was an inspiration … with his integrity and work ethic.”

Larry is survived by his wife Dianne, son Jerry (Sarah) Davis of Platte City, MO, mother Ilene Davis of Savannah, grandsons Cayden and Brady, and sister Carolyn Ann Barnhart of Kansas City, MO.

He was preceded in death by his father Harold Davis, brother Robert (Bobby) Jennings and sister Judy Pyle.

Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah, MO. Interment will be in Savannah Cemetery Savannah, Missouri. Public visitation and family receiving hours will be from 5 - 8 PM Wednesday June 11, 2014 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Christ’s Church, 17177 Highway 71, St. Joseph, Mo 64505.
