Lawrence Miner 92, of Atchison, Kansas passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Atchison Hospital.

Lawrence was born on May 14, 1921 in Logan, Kansas to Ralph Walter & Nellie Blanche (Laughton) Miner.

He served in the 691st Field Artillery Battalion in the U.S. Army & was a Past Commander of the VFW of Severance, Kansas. Lawrence worked as a welder for LFM & Rockwell of Atchison.

Lawrence married Berniece Davidson, she preceded him in death in 1977. He then married Ruth Reder, she preceded him in death in 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents, sons, Larry & Ronald Miner, daughter, Glenda Miner, brothers, Vernon, Leo, Elzie, Delbert & Almond & a sister, Opal “Peggy” Mason.

Survivors: sons, Alvin Miner & Robert Miner daughters, Marilyn Andre (Steve), Terri Nitz, Tina Perry, Judy Lamm, Cheryl Sinclair, Penny Purvis (Art), step-sons, Larry Reder (Nancy) & Kenny Reder (Edna), brother, Don Miner of Red Cloud, NE., sister, Melva Jean Quillen of Pueblo, CO., 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren & 5 step-great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, numerous nieces & nephews.

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Denton United Methodist Church in Denton, Kansas. Visitation: 6-8 Friday evening at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home in Troy, Kansas, where friends may call after 12noon Friday. Burial: Denton Cemetery, Denton, Kansas.
