Leanora Ruth Harris, 99, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Daviess County Nursing Home, in Gallatin, MO.

A graveside funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Platte City Cemetery, Platte City, MO. The family suggests contributions be given to The American Cancer Society.

Leanora was born March 31, 1915 in Tracy, MO to James Franklin and Laura Jane (Patton) Brown.

She was of the Christian faith; and lived most of her life in the Platte County, MO area.

Leanora married Thomas Glenn Harris, Sr. on October 20, 1930 in Kansas City, MO; and over the years they also lived in the Warsaw, Hannibal, and Kansas City areas. Leanora was mainly a homemaker, but did work outside the home, during the ‘50s for National Bellas Hess, a clothing manufacturer in the K.C. area.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; a son William Boyd Harris; a daughter Bette Ruth Campbell; 3 brothers Woodrow Wilson, James Lincoln, and Elmer Brown; 3 sisters Cleo Crump, Ida Mulkey, and Jane Porterfield; and a granddaughter Cathy Harris.

Leanora is survived by: her son Thomas (Dianne) Harris of Lake Viking, MO; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 6 great, great grandchildren. Arrangements By: Vaughn Funeral Home—Weston, MO—Ph. 816-386-2281.
