Lois Irene Tinder, 72 of Leavenworth, Ks. passed away August 15, 2014.

Lois graduated from Park Hill High School.

Lois was a woman of faith, and she spent her life taking care of others.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lyle Edward Tinder of Platte City, their son Larry Wayne Tinder, her parents Isabelle and Clark Adams of Falls City, Nebraska and her sister Joan Peacher, also of Platte City.

Lois leaves behind her daughter Lorie (Mike) Cook, Easton, Ks, and children Amber and Kaleb Ketchum, of Kansas, and son Lance (Mary) Tinder, and children James, Jessica, and Emily Tinder of Michigan.

Lois spent her life taking care of her in-laws, sister, and parents as well as many others, providing for their physical, spiritual, and emotional needs. Lois loved her family above all else. She raised her children, grandchildren, as well as several others that she loved as if they were her own. She taught them values about God, Family, and right and wrong. She was a role model and a friend.

A visitation will be held 5:30 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 18, 2014 at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City, MO. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 19, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Platte City Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be given to: NorthCare Hospice House, or to a fund for the grandchildren, payable to Lorie Cook.
