Lori Anne Godfrey, 55, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away after a courageous battle against cancer Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 11, 1958 in Canton, Ohio to Wayne Bittinger and Faith Rowland.
She married Norman Godfrey, April 26, 1981.
Lori graduated from Missouri Western University. She was a Special Education Teacher. She was a member of First Church of Nazarene and was very strong in her belief and faith in God. Lori was a caregiver of the family, always saving her needs for last.
She enjoyed Christian contemporary music, the ocean, and walking on the beach. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors: husband, Norman; son, Chris Godfrey; step-children, Gene Godfrey, Stephen “Chris” Godfrey (Kim), and LeAnna Glenn (Tony); grandchildren, Amber, Kaitlyn, Zachary, Ryan, and Alicia Godfrey, Travis, and Jessica Glenn; one great-granddaughter; sister, Lisa Ledwith (Tom); brother, Les Bittinger; nephew, Scott; and nieces, Erica and Jessica.
Services: 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Flowers are appreciated and for those wishing to make a contribution, the family requests they be made to American Cancer Society.
