Marion E. Buhr, 95, of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Vintage Gardens.
Marion was born on May 12, 1919 in Carrollton, Missouri to Curtis and Dora (Burkhart) Utterback.
She married Raymond Buhr in 1946 in Atchison, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1974.
Marion was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Sharon Laipple, grandson, Kevin Laipple, brothers, Walter and Edgar Utterback and sister, Nancy Hannah.
Surviving family includes son, Ted (Karen) Wheeler, Ozark, MO; daughters, Cathy (Ed) Grove, Agency, MO; and Gina (Russell) Hansen-McClain, St. Joseph; son-in-law, Carl Laipple, Wathena, Kansas; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Marion enjoyed flower gardening, spending time with her family and friends, cooking, fishing and crossword puzzles.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to Hands of Hope Hospice and especially Joni and Mary and the staff of Vintage Gardens North for their love, care and friendship to their mother.
Celebration of Life 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.
Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Tuesday prior to the service at our chapel.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Hands of Hope Hospice.
