Marjorie A. Ruoff, 90, St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Marjorie was born on December 9, 1923 in St. Joseph, to Albert and Bertha (Dittemore) Denton. She was a 1941 graduate of Central High School.
Mrs. Ruoff worked as an administrative assistant to the principal at Coleman School for over 30 years, retiring in 1998.
Marjorie was an active member of Community of Christ Abundant Life Center and volunteered within the community.
Marjorie married Vernon John Ruoff on September 23, 1943 and together raised their 3 children. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Mary Moore, Louis Denton and Eugene Denton.
Survivors include; 2 sons, Brent (Kimberly) Ruoff, St. Louis; Bruce Ruoff, Fairfax Station, VA and a daughter, Nancy (Butch) Eskridge, Rowlett, TX; 5 grandchildren, Tara, Cassie, Zack and Shay Eskridge and Alex Ruoff; 2 sisters, Grace McVicker and Norma Brooner and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Ruoff has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 15 at Community of Christ Church Abundant Life Center, with a luncheon to follow, 5130 Faraon St; St. Joseph, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Peace Unlimited through Community of Christ Church.
