Marjorie J. Yarbrough, 84, of St. Joseph passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Marjorie was born on August 9, 1929 in Amazonia, Missouri to W. Ferman and Anna M. (Thompson) Kent. She was raised in Bolckow, Missouri and graduated from Bolckow High School and graduated from Business School.
She became an accountant with the State Hospital, retiring after 30 years. Marjorie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, and the Genealogy Club. She enjoyed genealogy, crocheting, playing cards and loved to travel.
She married Robert Lee Yarbrough in 1950. He preceded her in death in 2009.
Marjorie was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Twila Stokes, and great-grandchild, Blaze Yarbrough.
Surviving family includes son, Gary (Sharon) Yarbrough, Savannah, MO; daughter, Linda (Lynn) Raines, Helena, MO; 11 grandchildren, Stephanie, Katrina, Kimberly, Kyley, Kent, Kelly, Crystal, Robert, Eric, Amber and Kayla; 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services 2:00 PM Thursday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph, Missouri. Interment Savannah Cemetery, Savannah, Missouri.
Visitation will begin after 11:00 AM Wednesday at our chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday evening.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Calvary Baptist Church.
