Mary Angeline Russell, 81, of St. Joseph, MO passed away Monday August 18, 2014 at her home.

Mary was born January 26, 1933 in Seneca, MO to Dow A. and May Bell (Pickett) Canady on February 14, 1987.  She married Loyd E. Russell, he survives of the home.  She was a homemaker, an Avon Representive, sold Comtempo Fashion Jewelry, worked at Hatfields, was a caretaker for the elderly, worked for seven years as a cashier at Cub Foods and had volunteered at Heartland Regional Medical Center.  She was a past member of the American Legion Post #11 Auxiliary.

Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Austin Merritt, second husband, Clyde Farlow; two sons, Timothy Merritt and Stephen Farlow; a daughter, Katherine L. Batson; two brothers, Allen Canady and Lee Roy Canady; two sisters, Virginia Smith and Betty Wethey; Great-Granddaughter, Daphani Miller.

Along with her husband she is survived by a son, Michael A. Merritt of Van Meter, IA; stepson, Loyd Dale Russell of Forest City, MO; sister, Minnie Sumner, Independence, KS; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grand-children and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 2:30pm at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith and Sidenfaden Chapel.  Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 9:00am Saturday at the chapel where the family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:30pm Saturday afternoon.

Memorials are requested to be given to the Lighthouse Fellowship Church or the American Cancer Society.
