She was born August 16, 1948 in DeKalb, MO, daughter of George and Mary (Maxey) Colburn.
On June 8, 1963 she married Gary Guinn and together they had two daughters, Gari Lynn and Gayle Anne.
Nancy was a farm wife for 34 years. She graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in Elementary Education, specializing in special education from MWSU and worked for the St. Joseph School district before retiring in 2009. She and "Mr. Gary" were married for 51 years. Nancy was a long time member of the DeKalb Christian Church. She was actively involved in children and youth programs. Her unwavering faith and love for the Lord has touched many lives as well as her infectious smile and warm presence.
Nancy was preceded in death by parents, George and Mary Colburn.
Nancy leaves behind her husband, Gary, of DeKalb, MO, daughters, Gari Lynn (Chris) Nicoll of Nixa, MO and Gayle (Mike) Mayhew of DeKalb, MO, five grandchildren, Danielle, Michael, Nathan, Mitchell, and Maxon; one great grandson, Kamden, one brother, David (Jerri Jean) Colburn of Dekalb, MO, two brother-in-laws, Bill (Marilynn) Guinn and Ronnie Guinn, one sister-in-law, JoAnn Nanninga and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 AM on Monday at the Rupp Chapel, with Rev. Bob Day officiating, The family will receive friends from 4 to 7PM on Sunday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Westlawn Cemetery . Memorials are requested to the DeKalb Christian Church or Hands of Hope Hospice.
