Richard A. (Waisblum) Wain, 75, St. Joseph, Missouri died Sunday, August 3, 2014 at his home.

He was born August 19, 1938 to Nate and Clara (Arst) Waisblum in St. Joseph, Missouri.

He married Janice E. Reece on August 30, 1957 and they later divorced.

Richard proudly served in the Air National Guard and was a self-taught Certified Court Reporter for thirty-five years. He was a loving father, who did everything he could for his family. He loved cars and was a published poet and writer. Richard was a jokester who believed in when you start something you never quit.

Mr. Wain was a member of the King Hill Lodge No. 376 A.F. & A.M., 32nd Degree Knights Commander Court of Honor, Moila Shrine, a member of the District Commissioners Staff of the Boy Scouts of America and East Hills Sertoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents; uncle, Honorable Judge Phillip Waisblum; and his champion bird dog, Lady.

Survivors: son, Greg Wain, Tonganoxie, Kansas; daughter, Traci Lewis, Savannah, Missouri; granddaughter, Casey Nicole Lewis (Shawn Deering), Avenue City, Missouri; great-granddaughter, Brynlee Lynn Neill; sister, Janie Waisblum Byland (Dr. James), Key Colony Beach, Florida; and cousin, Jerry Waisblum, Valencia, California.
