Roger L. Fisher, 87, St. Joseph, Missouri died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at a local healthcare facility.
He was born November 25, 1926 to Leo and Rosa (Isaacson) Fisher in Peoria, Illinois.
He married Waunita Jennings on December 19, 1954. She preceded him in death on October 7, 1999. He then married Betty Ruth Curtis on August 4, 2001. She survives of the home.
Roger proudly served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, MSTA, St. Joseph Woodworker’s Guild, North Kansas City Woodturners and North Kansas City Small Engines Group. He was also a member of the MO-KAN Antique Power Association and the Moila Shrine Charity Lodge.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Erma Rose Fisher.
Additional Survivors: son, Regan Fisher (Roxanne), Savannah, Missouri; daughters, Cheryl Fowler (Tracy), Sugar Land, Texas and Jennifer Jackson (Albert), St. Joseph, Missouri; grandchildren, Michael and James Fisher, Drew, Lee and Nicholas Fowler, and Lauren and Alex Jackson; and great-grandchildren, Brantley Fisher and Adelynn Fowler.
Services: 10:00 A.M. Saturday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Missouri. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 2:00 P.M. Friday. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to be made to Hands of Hope Hospice.
