Stephen C. Howard, of St. Joseph, Missouri died Sunday, February 23 at his home, in the care of his family.
Stephen was born October 10, 1947 in Craig, Missouri to Clavel and Delores Howard. He graduated from Craig High School in 1965 and Northwest Missouri State University in 1969. After graduation, he went on to be a teacher and athletics coach in King City and Union Star schools until 1979. He then started Howard Construction Company in King City, prior to moving to Key West, FL where he worked in sales for D&J Industries. He moved back to Missouri in 2001 and was employed with Eckard’s Home Improvement until his retirement in 2012.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clavel, grandparents Sylvester and Beva Howard and General and Lena Randall, and his brother-in-law, Lyle Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Patty, children Curtis (Christie), St. Joseph, Stephanie, Kansas City, MO and Cameron (Polly) , Maryville, MO along with four grandchildren, Reece and Ryan Howard of St. Joseph and Stella and Maggie Howard of Maryville as well as his mother, Delores, Mound City; brothers, Tom (Elisa) , Craig, MO, Chris , Keenesburg, CO, Jim (Lynn) , West Des Moines, IA, Jayson (Judy), Craig, MO and sisters Angie (Steve) Binder, Rulo, NE and Gina Smith, Woodbridge, VA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services: 1:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment Odd Fellows Cemetery, Craig, Missouri. The family will receive friends 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
