Violet “Jane” Constable 57, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed from this world Friday June 6, 2014, peacefully at her daughter’s home.

Jane was born March 5, 1957 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Benjamin and Barbara Penland.

She graduated from Benton High School in 1975, and received a Bachelor’s degree from Missouri Western State University in Accounting . She ran Hawkin’s and Monty’s Cafés, where she met many lifelong friends who became family. Jane was a great adventurer and love to travel. She took regular trips with her children to see the country and traveled to 49 states, across Canada and Mexico. Jane was a writer, a poet, an optimist and known for her sincere compassion and awful sense of humor.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her companion and caregiver, Perry King of St. Joseph, daughter Pamela Tyler of St. Joseph, three sons, Ben, Jeb and Jessie Constable of St. Joseph, brother, Jeff Penland and wife Kim, brother Scott Penland all of St. Joseph, MO, and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm with a memorial service to be held at 7:00 Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the Rupp Funeral Home. She will be cremated under the direction of the Rupp Funeral Home.
