Worldia Irene Yarnell, 98, passed away March 29 at Valley Park Residential Center, Holts Summit, Missouri.

Worldia was born March 2, 1916,to John and Pearl Fobair on a farm near Clarksdale, Missouri.

She married William R. (Ralph) Yarnell on September 28, 1935,living most of their life together in St. Joseph,Missouri.

Predeceasing her, in addition to her parents, were her husband,Ralph,one sister, Lucy Flanagan,and two brothers, Curtis and J. D. Fobair.

She is survived by three sons and one daughter: son,Bill (Ann) Yarnell of Jefferson City, Missouri; daughter, Ruth (Charles) Thompson of Leavenworth, Kansas; son, John T. (Susie) Yarnell of Jefferson City; and son, Jim (Barb) Yarnell of Lincoln, Nebraska; ten grandchildren,21great grandchildren, and four great­ great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Emolyn Thompson of the State of Florida, sister-in-law, Betty Yarnell,of St. Joseph, and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Yarnell was a member of Hillcrest Bible Church in St. Joseph, for many years, and a member of New Hope Assembly of God Church during her later years in Leavenworth.

Services 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will begin after 12:00 Noon Tuesday at our chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday evening.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contribution to Hospice Compasses of Jefferson City or Hillcrest Bible Church of St. Joseph.
