Zack Bloss, 77, St. Joseph, Missouri died Friday, April 25, 2014 at a local healthcare facility.
Zack Bloss was born January 14, 1937 in Salisbury, Missouri to George and Dolly Bloss. Zack grew up in Cameron and attended school there.
In 1955 he married Peggy Wagers of New Market and they moved to St. Joseph where Zack has continued to reside. There were two children, Candy Michelle and Robert Justin. Zack and Peggy divorced in 1987.
Zack owned and operated American Photo Offset Company for twenty-six years and later merged it with The Printing Centre from which he retired. He was a well-known wedding photographer for many years.
He was a member of Charity Zeradatha Lodge No. 189; A.F. & A.M. a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, Moila Shrine; and past member of the Moila Cyclists.
Zack proudly served in the Missouri Air National Guard and was a member of First Christian Church in St. Joseph. Zack’s passion was flying and upon earning his license he purchased his own plane and spent many happy hours in the air.
He was preceded in death by son, Robert Justin; great-grandson, Huntley Wilson; brother, Leon; sister, Joan White; and parents.
Survivors include daughter, Candy Michelle Phillips (Kenny); granddaughters, Jordan Coy, Hannah Wilson and Taylor Phillips; three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Nicolas and Delilah; sister, June Stockstad (Phil); and several nieces and nephews.
Services: 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Friends may call after 5:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation to The CJ Foundation for SIDS or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
