(MAYSVILLE, Mo.) A Maysville man is making sure every child in his town has something under the tree this Christmas.

Ronald White may not be the richest man alive, but he has a heart of gold. The father of five and manager at Casey's in Maysville wanted to do something special for children who were less fortunate in his community.

"These people walk in every day to get their morning cup of coffee on their way to work and we get to know them. It's like family," he said. "We get to know about when your kids sick, if you had a flat tire and it means something to us and we wanted to show them we do care."

White helped launched Operation Stocking Stuffer. His original goal was to fill 50 stockings, but when that number doubled, he asked the Angel Tree Project to assist with finding children for the extra stockings.

Julia Huffaker with the Angel Tree Project not only matched his number of stockings but provided clothing for the stockings.

"All the kids will really enjoy it because they get a toy angel and a clothing angel. So, it'll be really awesome for them to be able to dump out the stocking on Christmas morning and get a whole bunch of goodies," said Huffaker.

White says he never imagined his dream of giving back would grow so big. He says giving back can change a child's viewpoint on life and give them something to build on.

"I just believe that if you can make an impact on a child's day just once and give them a good memory that will give them a jump, something to build on," he said. "If I was a millionaire, I'd dress up like Santa and I'd ride around town and give them all something."

Families chosen to receive the gifts will pick them up Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Maysville.

The community collected toys for nearly 150 stockings and hopes to double that number next year.
