(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.) Electric bills could be getting a little cheaper for KCP&L customers in the St. Joseph and Kansas City areas.

The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved a tariff that will reduce fuel adjustment charges for electric utility services in KCP&L's Greater Missouri Operations territory.

The tariff, which will take effect March 1, will bring a decrease of around $1.10 a month for the average customer in the St. Joseph area. Kansas City area customers could see a decrease around 82 cents a month.

The tariff allows the company to pass increases or decreases in its fuel costs to customers.
