Texas Roadhouse Fresh Baked Bread

1 pkg. of active dry yeast

½ cup warm (100 degree) water

2 cups milk

½ cup sugar

2 qt. all purpose flour

2 whole eggs

2 tsp. salt

 

~ Dissolve yeast and 1 tsp. of sugar in warm water and let sit for 5 minutes, mixture will be “foamy”.

~ Scald milk and let cool to luke warm.

~ Add eggs, milk, remaining sugar, and salt, beat until smooth.

~ Slowly mix in flour.

~ Place on lightly floured table and knead for 7-10 minutes until smooth, with no lumps.

~ Place in greased bowl, grease top side of dough and let rise for about an hour or until dough has doubled in size.

~ Punch down the dough, using a roller, roll dough to 1 inch thickness.

~ Cut dough into 2x2 squares and let rise 20-30 minutes more.

~ Cook at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or golden brown rotating pan after 10 minutes.

~ Brush rolls with melted butter, right when they come out of the oven.
