(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Second Harvest held its first Super Food Fair on Saturday.  The free event aimed to encourage healthy lifestyle changes while giving participants the tools they need to live a healthier life.

The fair featured cooking demonstrations by Chef Ralph Fillipelli, a health and resource fair and it gave attendees the chance to make their own smoothies using the Bike Blender.

Second Harvest's director of operations said she hopes the event gives people the opportunity to enjoy fresh, healthy foods and leads to them eating more fruits and vegetables.

Saturday morning's event was the first of four Second Harvest has scheduled.  Upcoming events will be held on October 19 at Bartlett Park, November 9 at Lake Contrary School and on February 8 at Lindbergh School.  All events will be held from 10:00 A.M. to Noon.
