(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A campaign drive is underway to help feed the hungry and battle food insecurity in the region.

Second Harvest Community Food Bank hopes to raise $400,000 over the next three months.

The organization launched its "Building Hunger-Free Communities" campaign Thursday in Leavenworth County.

The food bank serves about 15,000 people each week, working with 100 partner agencies. Financial donations go a long way, but Second Harvest is also seeking volunteers and groups to host food drives.
