(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The Joyce Raye Patterson Senior Center is taking a new spin on things this week.

Monday kicked off Active Aging Week, a program that is put on to encourage seniors to be active.

The center has a goal to collectively cover 1,866 miles on stationary bikes within five days, which is the same length as the Pony Express Trail between St. Joseph and Sacramento.

Anyone who is 50 and older can participate in the bike riding.

"It kind of fits St. Joseph I think. You like to put your own stamp on it of something that is for your community. They were wanting us to do something typical for our community, something we could do," said Ann Salanky, Joyce Ray Patterson Center.

The center is also offering line dancing, total body workout, and more. You can find the full schedule at the Joyce Raye Patterson Senior Center's website.
