(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) After a long holiday weekend, most travelers have finally headed home.  And for some, that meant traveling by R.V.  Here locally, the influx of visitors meant some that live at one of the R.V. parks in town had the opportunity to meet new people.  Residents at Beacon R.V. Park don't mind the spurts of business during the holidays.

"When the weather's good this place is usually full.  It's a heck of a place to visit.  And on your way through to another destination it's awesome," said St. Joseph, MO Resident Mark Beebe.

Living in an R.V. doesn't limit the amount of things to do though.

"We're right in the middle of everything here.  Bottom line is you got activities all around us.  And this is a pretty sweet spot to land if you're in an rv," said Beebe.

Beacon residents are used to seeing people come and go but sometimes, they see them stay.

"Some people stay for a day or two, some people stay for a month, some people stay longer," said Beebe.

One of the reasons why they don't mind visitors during the holidays is because they get a chance to meet travelers from all over the country.

"One guy was from Brooksville, Florida.  He had just gone out to Yellowstone and he was on his way back.  You get a variety, some people are out here working," said Lloyd Cole who lives at the R.V. Park.

Residents really like how their way of living is easier on their finances.

"With the economy like it is, I think more and more people might be choosing to live like this," said Cole.

And there are other benefits as well.

"You don't have everything yelling at you needing to be fixed because you don't have to worry about the yard, you don't have to worry about the electric, the water bill.  It's all included.  So it's good, we like it," said Cole.

Beacon R.V. Park is open year round and has plenty of full time residents.  The owner says the summer months are their busiest times of the year.
