(STEWARTSVILLE, Mo.) Positive lab results have allowed the City of Stewartsville to lift a boil order issued Thursday night.

The city says water is now safe to drink and the boil advisory has been lifted for effected areas after a water main break left much of the community without water.

Crews worked through Thursday night and into Friday to repair the break. Many in the town were without water for 10 hours and the break forced the closure of schools in Stewartsville.

Old pipes that likely froze were blamed for the break.
