Students from four St. Joseph middle schools collected different items for a Thanksgiving meal and donated them to Second Harvest Community Food Bank.
Bode, Robidoux, Spring Garden and Truman all took part in the drive.
The student council from Spring Garden decided to take it a step farther by actually helping to hand out the pre-packaged meals.
"It's very encouraging to see our youth be engaged in something that gives back. To see that in middle school students is just inspiring," said Chad Higdon, Second Harvest executive director.
Both Second Harvest and Spring Garden's student council hope this is just the first of many projects they will accomplish together.
