(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Easter almost here and for one church that means taking an egg hunt to a whole new level.
Missouri Valley Baptist Church is preparing for its annual easter egg launch at Lake Contrary Park.
Church members spent the last two month stuffing plastic eggs with candy. The eggs will be tossed from a giant catapult for kids to collect.
"It's been a group effort. It's been so much fun. I'm just excited to see all the fun everyone is gong to be having out there," said Cole McCauley.
More than 6,000 eggs will fly through the air on Saturday.
"The traditional Easter egg hunts are just hiding the eggs in the grass and kids go get them. This way, the little kids can actually see them because they just fall on the ground," said Randy Rogers, Missouri Valley Baptist Church.
The easter egg launch begins at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Click here for more information.
